Tom grew up in the phone business running cable with his dad. Back then, ATT did not allow inside wiring to be completed by third parties, so Tom became an expert at paging systems. Soon thereafter he began running 25 and 50 pair cables for 1A2 electromechanical key systems. Tom stayed with the phone business his entire career and worked his way up from cable technician to foreman to PBX technician. This culminated in his work with Mitel Corporation as an Applications Engineer in their help desk. This position entailed helping technicians from Mitel VARs develop new or unusual solutions for call centers and multi-site networks. Tom moved into Sales Engineering after that, then later into management for one of the local Mitel VARs. Tom co-founded CTS Networks, Inc. in 2003 and serves as the President and CEO. Tom’s primary roles in the business today are sales engineering and overseeing major projects in the field. |
Chris Maher grew up in Huntington Beach, CA surfing and playing baseball for Huntington Beach High and Golden West Junior College. He attended Long Beach State after that and earned a B.S. in Mathematics. Chris had planned on going into teaching, but answered an add from Inter-Tel after college that read “Looking for technical people with an outgoing personality” and hence started his career in sales. After winning Western Regional Sales Awards for three years in a row for other companies, Chris co-founded CTS Networks, Inc. in 2003. Chris’ primary roles in the business today are accounting and sales, but prides himself on learning the technical side of telephony in the early years of the business. He’s done everything from cable installation to call center and voice over IP implementations. |
